This class is a great
introduction to the practice of yoga. Yoga is 4000+
year old practice that uses physical postures (asanas)
and conscious breathing (pranayama) to balance and
integrate body, mind and spirit. The practice of
yoga can increase flexibility and strength and
reduce stress, while developing self-knowledge,
clarity of mind and a sense of well being. Beginning
yoga is appropriate for people of most levels of
physical ability, flexibility and body type.
Students will be introduced to basic asanas, gentle
stretches, conscious breathing and deep relaxation
techniques. Please bring a yoga mat and a small
pillow or cushion.

Continuing Yoga is a
great class for those looking to deepen their yoga
practice. This class is appropriate for students who
have taken Beginning Yoga or have some yoga
experience. New postures will be introduced, basic
postures will be explored further and yoga
philosophy will be introduced. Please bring a yoga
mat and a small pillow or cushion

and hands on assists. Options and modifications will
be offered making this class appropriate for
students of all levels, including beginners. In the
practice of Kripalu yoga, you are guided to move at
your own pace, honoring your body's needs in each
moment. The Kripalu approach to yoga is a
compassionate, non-judgmental self-inquiry. Please
bring a yoga mat, a pillow or cushion, your
questions and a sense of curiosity.

Back Care Yoga is a series of
gentle yoga classes designed to relieve chronic back
pain and prevent future back injury using a holistic
approach. Using yoga postures (asanas) and
breathwork (pranayama) we will gently and safely
stretch and strengthen the muscles that support the
spine. Through deep relaxation (Yoga Nidra) we will
relieve stress that can contribute to back pain. We
will explore modifications for posture and daily
activities to reduce pain and prevent injury.
Students will leave this session with simple and
practical tools
to help heal the back
and to maintain a healthy spine. This class is
appropriate for students of all levels including
beginners

Yoga of the Heart is a
program of deep relaxation training and adapted yoga
for persons with heart disease, cancer and other
chronic illnesses. Yoga of the Heart aims to support
participants' health in order to decrease blood
pressure, boost immune function, enhance clarity of
mind, promote calming of brain waves, and lower
heart rate. It is very useful for those with family
histories and/or risk factors for major chronic
illnesses. Preliminary research on the potential
benefits of Yoga of the Heart include: improved
sleep quality, improved mood, decreased stress,
decreased disease-related symptoms, enhanced
functioning and improved quality of life.
